Private health insurance for doctoral students, language students and students over 30 years of age
This combination is aimed at international students and serves as proof of sufficient financial means and the necessary health insurance cover for your stay in Germany.
These documents are one of the main criteria for the student visa.
You must present this proof to the German embassy in your home country when you apply for your visa.
A blocked account is a special account that in most cases is necessary for the application for a German student visa and is a prerequisite for the application for a residence permit in Germany.
If you are an international student, au pair, language student, trainee or job seeker, and you are not from an EU Member State, you must prove that you have the financial means to pay for your study/stay in Germany as well as the costs of daily life during your stay.
For a one-year stay in Germany a so-called proof of financing of approximately €10300.00 at least is usually required. Compared with some other financial proofs the opening of a blocked account for the deposit of a security payment is the option most frequently used.
Easy to Germany offers cooperation with the Deutsche Fintiba Bank to make possible the simple and speedy opening of a blocked account.
Opening the account
The steps are simple:
For security reasons, select a blocked account / health insurance combination and enter the necessary application data for health insurance. After a check of your data, you will receive a confirmation e-mail with direct link to the opening of the blocked account.
After entering your personal data and the verification of your identity by Fintiba, your blocked account will be opened, and the blocked amount can be transferred to your (current) account.
Directly on receipt of the blocked amount the confirmation of your blocked amount will be issued, and you can download this into your Fintiba account.
With this document, you can now apply for a national visa for Germany.
Unlocking the account
Upon your arrival in Germany a regular account with a local bank (e.g. Deutsche Bank, Sparkasse, Postbank, etc.) must be opened so that Fintiba can transfer regularly to your current account the amount available to you of at least 853.- EUR per month.

What you need to know:
Depending on your passport and nationality further steps may be needed for final legitimation in Germany. In this case Fintiba quickly provides the necessary information.
To open your blocked account, you need only your valid passport. There will be no need for certified or original documents to be sent by post.
After registering your blocked account you will receive a confirmation directly.
Since the account opening is fully processed online, it usually takes only a few hours until your blocked account is opened. This depends mainly on how quickly the required documents and data are uploaded by you.
Important: Note that we can only check completed sets of data, i.e. each section must be filled out and every “To Do” attended to.
Since you put a large sum of money into an account that will be blocked for a certain period of time, it is very important that you open a bank account under your own name and that no third party participates in this process.
At Fintiba, you will then have access to your personal account, which you can make use of securely by means of a WebApp. Here you can manage everything online and easily by yourself. And should a question still arise, Fintiba is there for you!
The initial fee for the blocked account is €89.00 with a monthly account management fee of €4.90.
The payment of the monthly account management fee of €4.90 begins as soon as the money has been received in your account. Fintiba charges the fees from the time of opening the account.
