The KSHR supplementary visual aids insurance from DKV - Deutsche Krankenversicherung AG includes:

glasses and contact lenses

• 90%, max. €300.00 for glasses, frames and contact lenses without repairs

From the age of 14 only with a change in vision of at least 0.5 dioptres. Without such a change in vision, no earlier than 2 years after getting the last visual aid.

• 80%, max. €200.00 (children up to the age of 14 100 euros)

for spectacle lenses, frames and contact lenses without repairs; from the age of 14 only if the vision changes by at least 0.5 dioptres. Without such a change in vision, no earlier than 2 years after getting the last visual aid.

hearing aids

• 80%, max. €600.00 per hearing aid

Aids other than visual aids and hearing aids

• Annually 80%, max. €300.00 according to GKV advance payment

international health insurance

for protection during a temporary stay abroad of up to 3 months (if you are unable to return, until you are able to be transported):

• 100% for medical treatment, prescribed drugs and bandages, remedies, inpatient treatment (including board and lodging), necessary transport to the nearest hospital or nearest emergency doctor, pain-relieving dental treatment and tooth filling in a simple version (but not dentures or tooth crowns).

• 100% for the additional cost of a medical necessary return transport from abroad if organized by DKV, otherwise 80%.

• 100% for the additional costs of a necessary, accompanied return transport of accompanying children under the age of 16 from abroad if organized by DKV, otherwise 80%.

• 100% for the necessary transport of medicines and blood supplies abroad if organized by DKV, otherwise 80%

• In the event of death abroad, the costs of transportation up to €10000.00 and burial abroad up to €10000.00 are reimbursed.

Waiting period:

• General waiting period 3 months, except in the case of an accident. Waiver possible on the basis of a medical examination.
